To tell you the truth, I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since the publication of You Beneath Your Skin. I started drafting it in 2011. It found a publisher in 2017 and set off on its journey in 2019.
Then the time-warp of covid swallowed up a few years and here we are in 2024. Open Road Media has picked up the ebook rights for the book and and we have an entire setup in place for the proceeds to go to Stop Acid Attacks and Project Why.
It’s been a while getting here and in the interim I’ve already published the Blue Mumbai series. It does feel good though to see the new cover for You Beneath Your Skin and I can only hope it will continue to find new readers over the years.
I’m hopeful for an audiobook, and the sale of screen rights. It calls for a bit of perseverance, but that’s one thing I have in spades. No idea if I have any talent, and I have no control over timing —that most magical of phenomena that makes or breaks a book–but I know I can keep on keeping on. Let’s cross fingers this post ages well, shall we?
In this new year, I’m going to continue keeping faith in good fortune. This book has received a lot of love and it tells a story that needed to be told. In the meanwhile I’ll celebrate his entry into US chores and cross my fingers. You Beneath Your Skin needs all your good wishes.

Thank you for sharing!!.. you are a wonderful writer,, like the new cover… I have read the first book but haven’t had a chance to read the following books, dealing with life’s challenges at the moment… I think to some degree one makes their own fortune, “We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving. And we all have some power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing.” (Louisa May Alcott)… what gives me the faith to continue is I am able to wake up on the green side of the grass every morning and “Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow them.” (Louisa May Alcott)… 🙂

Hard work is a given, but fortune is what makes things a success I’ve realized. I’ve seen some very hard working people continue to toil without significant improvements in their lives or work.

Yeah, they thought a new cover will make a difference for the US audience. I think they did a decent job with it.
I think there is a balance of good and bad fortune. And at the moment you are one of the representatives of good fortune.
