Writing thrillers and crime novels is my jam, so as you’d expect, I’m always on the lookout for them.
It is also a question I ask most crime authors I interview, because who better to ask for suggestions on my next read than the authors I adore?
Here are a few of the responses I’ve received, all conveniently compiled for you to check out at your leisure. Under the name of each bestselling/ award-winning author are the recommendations they shared with me
The author: Hank Phillippi Ryan is the nationally bestselling author of more than a dozen mystery novels. She has won multiple prestigious awards for her crime fiction: five Agathas, three Anthonys, the Daphne, two Macavitys, and for The Other Woman, the coveted Mary Higgins Clark Award. National reviews have called her a “master at crafting suspenseful mysteries” and “a superb and gifted storyteller.”
Here are her recommendations:

Katie Gutierrez’s MORE THAN YOU’LL EVER KNOW—gorgeous and heartbreaking.
Lisa Jewell’s NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. She is a flat-out genius.

A great feature of some successful crime/thriller writers, Damyanti. And you’ve been busy! Congrats on the latest book, too. 😀
Thank you so much, both for the kind words and for visiting the blog!
Some talented authors you asked!
Enjoy your June, Damy.
Thanks, Alex, have a great month! And yes, extremely talented! I hope you picked up some good recs.
Hi Damyanti – I’d love to read more like these – I do read yours and certainly feel I’ve learnt lots about Mumbai and its surrounds – as well as having a very good mystery to unravel. Your characters are real. I’ve enjoyed the Jacqueline Winspear books – I had to stop reading them, but have them for a rainy day! Also Helen Dunmore and Elly Griffiths … I just for some reason am greedy for knowledge … hence my reading habits today. Cheers for now – Hilary
I’m so glad you enjoyed my books, Hilary. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting the blog– hopefully some of the suggestions make it onto your TBR list!
Hank has some great authors on her webinar (including you!).
Thank you, Jacqui, that’s so nice of you to say!
